關於武裝裂勒蟲眼睛狀態的說明 @ 化石澄清的部落格

經上篇文章中,經化石狂大大說明武裝裂勒蟲眼睛應該是柵格狀的複眼,於是我上網查了

一下,果然發現了該照片(今舉下例,因為其它的照片有四層的),於是小弟不死心,發mail

去問了paleoart,希望能得到這個答案,本來不抱很大希望,但我mail中表明只想學習到

正確答案,沒想到他們真的回覆了,今把回覆po上如下:

根據內文,應該是當初在找的化石中, 只有發現在幾個化石眼部有殘存的球狀形狀小甲

殼質片斷(應該是跟鏡眼蟲複眼般,一個個帶有類似lens的圓形小複眼),因此他們推論

武裝裂勒蟲眼睛生存時應該是存有圓形小複眼的,但從paleoart發現的200多件武裝裂

勒蟲至今,都沒發現保存有完整球狀形狀複眼的化石,他們也是做了眼睛的修復(主要由

塑料,像我提供的照片)。放入他們的書中來使用,所以類似我寄給他們參考的圖片,他們

認為是修復所形成的,且現今也找不到武裝裂勒蟲完全化石化完整的球狀形狀複眼了.

about 20 years ago, when we started the trilobite preparation, we assumed that the eye of Hoplolichoides conicotuberculatus should looks like on your photo. We did not find any Hopl. conic. with the complete eyes. Almost all trilobites were with limestone in the eyes. Only several findings had a small chitin fragments, sometimes with spherical shape (our idea was based on these findings). And as a result, we did the restoration of the eyes (mainly by plastic) like on your photo.

During the work with the book, we found and investigated more than two hundreds of the Hopl. conicotub. As a result, we suggest, that the eyes of the trilobite were absolutely not fossilized. Now (last 5 - 6 years) we prepare the eyes of the trilobites as it is originally found - with limestones without any chitin (or plastic).

So, we think that your photo is the restoration
